U.S. apparel brand and retailer Gant renovated, expanded and reopened this location back in 2007. In a nearly 7,000-square-foot space, floor-to-ceiling cobalt blue shelves hold our favorite pique button-downs and rugby scarves, and four floors of stainless steel and glass pairs the men’s and women’s collections with all the trimmings from watches, shades, and shoes to fragrance and home furnishings. A sublevel shop also exists, home to Gant’s sister streetwear brand, Rugger, and a gallery homage to the history of the brand. For the flagship’s grand opening, Gant eschewed a starlet-studded red carpet affair in favor of kicking off “Patterns of Green,” a series in which such speakers as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Jean-Michel Cousteau take the stage to talk eco-friendliness in fashion…something else that’s always in style

Over the past few years, Gant’s re-established itself as a premiere menswear clothier and their New York shops embody the brand’s re-emergence as a top-tier contender in the modern menswear space. The pieces fit really well and the people that work here know their stuff. Look for ivy-inspired pieces like oxford shirting and classic chinos but rest assured that there are a few suits in the mix as well as plenty of other timeless pieces for the taking.
