5th Avenue NY | Saint Patrick’s Cathedral

Quinta 5ta Avenida Nueva York St Patricks Catedral

A major attraction for Catholics and other Christians from all over the world, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral (the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York) was completed in 1878, and currently faces Rockefeller Plaza on 5th Avenue. It is the largest gothic-style Catholic cathedral in America.

Religious services are held throughout the day However, some locals complain that tourists treat Saint Patrick’s as more of a tourist site than as a house of worship. It draws a large contingent of locals during the Saint Patrick Day parade (held for Irish-Americans)
