65 5th Avenue NY | The New School Building

65 Quinta 5ta Avenida Nueva York New School This 16-story ultra-modern building, located at 5th Avenue and 14th Street, is currently under construction, and will become the main location for The New School — a liberal arts university which was founded in 1919 by progressive New York scholars. Once known as the New School of Social Research, this university, which currently has over 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students, offers programs in the social sciences, liberal arts, humanities, architecture, fine arts, design, music, drama, finance, psychology and public policy.   The New School’s new location, which is just blocks away from the Union Square shopping area, Washington Square Park, and New York University, will have new classrooms, dormitories, a library, and lecture hall. Its bronze-like exterior already makes the building stand out, along with its large zig-zag windows – which are aligned along its stairwells. 65 Quinta 5ta Avenida Nueva York Ave New School The New School’s expansion project is similar to those taking place within schools like Columbia University and Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus (which is currently building a new law school that’s twice the size of the building that houses its undergrad students).
